Volume 01 - Edition 01

Hello and welcome to the first edition of You and Astrology's Newsletter. In this issue we will bring you up to date with happenings at our recent seminar "Finding the soul on the birth chart".

Over the past few years we have been fortunate enough to have many talented astrologers travel to our region here in the Hunter, amongst them has been the very talented Steven Forrest of the US. The first seminar, entitled ‘Love and Mischief’ was a huge success and based on the study of the synastry chart (that’s the comparison of one persons chart to another) and composite charts (that’s the study of a chart that is formed when looking at the relationship as an entity in itself). Every one that was there agreed that is was like to coming together of a tribe, and the entire week, was truly, inspiring for one and all. Then last October/November, Steve returned, to conduct the seminar entitled, ‘finding the soul in the birth chart’, this time the theme was based more on the study of the nodes and the evoluntary intent the soul carries into there present incarnation. We had many return participants as well and lots of new faces, and again this proved to be a wonderful event. We held a social night, which just by chance coincided with Halloween; it was a witches and warlocks theme, which saw some very interesting characters come out to play.

Now in August 09, Steve will return to our shores to hold the seminar that will run in parallel with his American apprenticeship program, teaching the principles of evolutionary astrology, the following a snippet indicates what this week will hold…

What does it mean if a transiting Saturn is heading for an opposition to your sun? The conventional astrological response is to make the sign of the cross utter an expletive and to take refuge in the promise that this too shall pass, in the belief we are the victims of 'bad' astrological weather and the beneficiaries of good weather, in both cases we are passive in relation to the planets, as inert as billiard balls knocked around on the table of life. How might we do better than that? How might we better embody the choice centred principles of Evolutionary Astrology? Instead of trying possibilities inherent in an upcoming configuration, we will face fears and any shadow work honestly; but we will never clip the wings of our imaginations by looking no further than the heavy side of things. Always, we keep our eye on the prize the lesson our soul is learning and the easiest most harmonious and efficient path to embodying it as we learn to walk this talk ourselves we empower our clients and friends with the same magic.

Once we move beyond fatalism and it’s deadening prediction we've entered the heart of Evolutionary astrology. Choices and wisdom—consciousness in other words become the moving force behind every transit, progression or solar arc. In this programme we will spend about half the time working on the theoretical foundations of evolutionary prediction and the other half applying those principles to the charts of class members drawn at random. Come prepared with curiosity and perhaps even some anxiety about an upcoming astrological event in your own chart, we will focus on how to prepare for It with a clear understanding and positive disciplined evolutionary intentions.

Those who took part in the programme, placed their details in a hat and the charts were wonderful examples of the past lives to the present. Steve’s newest book, “Yesterdays Sky”, is now available and contains the work studied at the seminar. As well as the book, the seminar was recorded and is also now available on 1 complete CD in MP3 format. Another very special event in planetary movements has just occurred with the ingress of Pluto into Capricorn, where it will now stay for a 16 year period, this once in a 248 year phenomena, holds a great gift, on both a personal and social level in society. Any of us with a Capricorn Sun, or strong Capricorn in our charts will certainly be being challenged by the demands that are placed on us as Pluto dominates our attention in this area of our life, but it will also hold a great significance for our society and structures, as it makes its way, transforming our interest structures, political climates, world leaders and economic climate. Pluto’s ingress into Capricorn brings with it the first black president of the US; I feel this is very symbolic statement.
